Workshop Goals
- Assess the state of science regarding agricultural air quality
- Build on our knowledge of research, policy, economic, and societal well-being associated with
agricultural air quality
- Foster multidisciplinary communication, exchange of ideas, and partnerships
- Recommend changes and improvements in measurement technologies and monitoring methodologies, modeling, and best management and production practices to mitigate air pollutant emissions from agricultural sources
Workshop Products
- Workshop Abstracts (both online and in print)
- Publication of Workshop proceedings
- Papers published in peer reviewed journals
- Congressional briefings and other outreach activities to share the Workshop results
- Workshop Summary submitted to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences prepared with the following objectives:
- Improve agricultural air quality emission inventories for air pollutants;
- Recommended changes and improvements in measurement technologies and monitoring methodologies, modeling and transport of odor and air pollutants;
- Recommended best production practices to mitigate air pollutant emissions.
The publications will be disseminated to policy makers, agribusinesses, regulators, and concerned citizens through presentations, discussions, fact sheets, news articles, and links to web sites.
