The Workshop on Agricultural Air Quality: State of the Science was organized by an international team involved with many aspects of agricultural air quality science and policy, and led by Viney Aneja and William Schlesinger, with staff support from the Ecological Society of America.

Approximately 350 people attended the Workshop. The program included a mixture of plenary and concurrent oral sessions, posters, and discussions. All authors of oral and poster papers presented at the Workshop provided an extended abstract for publication in the proceedings of the Workshop. They have also been invited to submit a comprehensive manuscript for dedicated special issues of peer reviewed journals (e.g., Atmospheric Environment; Environmental Fluid Mechanics; International Journal of Agricultural Resources, Governance and Ecology; Journal of the Air and Waste Management Association; Journal of Atmospheric Chemistry; Journal of Environmental Quality; and Transactions of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers).

The Workshop was planned through the efforts of a Steering Committee and an International Executive Advisory Committee.
