Assistant Professor, Ecology & Religion

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position in SENR. We seek an individual who bridges natural science, social science, and humanities approaches to understanding the intersection of religion and ecology. The successful candidate will demonstrate an outstanding record of teaching and a supporting program of research, and will complement current expertise within the School of Environment and Natural Resources in environmental policy and decision making, rural sociology, and environmental social science. We especially encourage applications from candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following topical areas: climate change, sustainability, environmental ethics, ecotheology, and environmental education, and who have a track record of interdisciplinary work. Candidates with sustainability-across-the-curriculum and writing-in-the-majors expertise preferred.

Earned Ph.D. with a strong academic background in religion and ecology or related area. Demonstrated teaching expertise and experience in academic program leadership are essential. The successful candidate will bring a broad, interdisciplinary perspective, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate a willingness and ability to work closely with other people.
