A challenging and rewarding opportunity currently exists as to be the Founding Director of The ICPS. The Director reports to the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics and she/he is expected to build an institute structure based on the existing research in coastal plain sciences with emphasis on the southeast (US) coastal plain.

The newly created Institute of Coastal Plain Sciences will be an integrated, interdisciplinary organization within the College of Science and Mathematics. The institute's mission is to increase our understanding of the relationship among the coastal plain environment, its resources, biodiversity, and human activity.

The position requires research, teaching, and service responsibilities, as well as a terminal degree and the ability to develop extramurally-funded research programs in fields central to the ICPS mission.
