Postdoctoral Associate, Land Cover Change and Spatial Analysis in Tropical Forests
Location: Arlington, VA; other locations negotiable

The Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Network seeks a postdoctoral associate with strong interest in tropical landscapes to work collaboratively with TEAM Network partners to synthesize satellite imagery and GIS data and to conduct research and analyses on historical patterns of land cover and climate change (e.g., land use, fire, population density, infrastructure, temperature, precipitation) at several TEAM Network sites.  The objective of his/her work will be to advance understanding of the implications of historical, present and future  patterns of land cover and climate change on tropical forest biodiversity and community composition.
The TEAM Network is a unique global monitoring network for tropical forests, comprised of four core partners (Conservation International, Smithsonian Institution, Wildlife Conservation Society, Missouri Botanical Garden) and many local partners.  Using standardized, high-quality field and remote sensing methods, Network partners collect repeated measurements of tree and liana diversity, carbon storage, terrestrial vertebrate diversity using camera traps, climate, land use change, and land use change drivers.  The data are curated and managed in a central location, from which they are made publicly available in near-real-time through the TEAM web portal.
