During the 2012-2013 academic year, the Iowa State University chapter of SEEDS focused on recruiting club members. The club was very successful in complying with all university policies for registered student organizations. The club leaders met several times to organize logistics for recruiting, on-campus activities, and the fall 2012 BioBlitz. The BioBlitz was successful and included participation of 15 students. The club was also invited to participate in a STEM night at a local elementary school. All club officers participated and organized this activity. Ashley De Leon and Antonio Cordero attended the ESA conference in Minneapolis during the summer of 2013. They presented a summary of the chapter’s accomplishments over the last 5-6 years.
