Her teaching at HPU includes courses on plant biology, ecology, and science communication. Gina received her M.S. in 2023 from Oklahoma State University in Plant Biology, where she investigated the effects of fungal spillover from coffee plantations onto tree seedlings in nearby forests. As a freelancer, Gina has expertise in science writing and graphic illustration, and has hosted several courses and workshop about getting started in scicomm. As co-chair of the ESA C&amp;E section, she hopes to increase member access to science communication opportunities and provide training to those who are looking to expand the reach of their work.
