See our page for <a href=\"https:\/\/esa.org\/earlycareer\/?page_id=95\">ESA 2015<\/a> for more details on these and other events!<!--more-->They include:\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>Centennial mentoring program<\/strong><\/span><br>\nWe are organizing a mentoring program that pairs 10 early career ecologists with senior ecologists to provide advice and interactions at the 2015 ESA annual meeting. Applications have closed for this year, but the program is open to all ecological disciplines and career trajectories. Look for our early career mentoring participants at ESA \u2013 We\u2019ll have a poster highlighting their professional profiles at our booth! We hope to run this program again in future years, so please let us know what your mentoring needs are. You can <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/esa.org\/earlycareer-preprod\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/02\/MentoringAnnouncement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">review the call for mentee applications (PDF)<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/esa.org\/earlycareer-preprod\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/01\/Call_for_ESA_Mentors.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the call for mentors (PDF)<\/a><\/strong> here!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>Special session at ESA 2015<\/strong><\/span><br>\nWe are pleased to host a special session at ESA\u2019s 2015 annual meeting titled <strong>Concerns and Challenges in Personal and Professional Development for Early Career Ecologists<\/strong>. This special session is a collection of presentations by authors of articles recently published in ESA journals on topics relevant to early career ecologists, including balancing work and family, managing dual careers, gaining employment, teaching for the first time, generating novel research questions, and measuring success, with discussion to follow.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>Webinar series with RUI and Student Sections<\/strong><\/span><br>\nThe Researchers at Undergraduate Institutions Section was recently awarded an ESA long-range planning grant to organize a webinar series. The Early Career Ecologist Section was active in the development of this grant proposal and will organize a webinar entitled <strong>How to Position Yourself for a Successful Career as an Ecologist<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>Workshop on diverse career pathways with ESA\u2019s Science Committee<\/strong><\/span><br>\nFor the past couple years, ESA\u2019s Science Committee has organized a workshop providing activities and knowledge to help students and early career ecologists explore career pathways outside academia.
