He has been giving presentations on climate change to faith groups and other groups for over a year.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sabalka grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and spent his first two decades there. In 2002 he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with majors in mathematics, computer science, and history, and minors in physics and psychology. He received his Ph.D. in mathematics in 2006 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then held postdoctoral appointments in mathematics at the University of California-Davis and at Binghamton University. He held a professorship at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri before returning to his home state in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>While at Binghamton University, Dr. Sabalka had the opportunity to work on next-generation, thin-film solar cells. He is excited about the prospects of solar and the other alternative energy technologies for helping us address the climate crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sabalka has been passionate about the environment all his life. Of all of the issues currently facing America, he believes that climate change is the most important challenge we face.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sabalka\u2019s presentations focus on the issues affecting the Midwest, including drought, water supply, severe weather, crop damage, and floods. His presentations show why addressing climate change is so urgent.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sabalka\u2019s presentations also focus on proven solutions to address climate change and what individuals, organizations, and governments can do to act.
