He laid foundational work in the area of novel ecosystems, the theme of the forthcoming 2016 ESA Annual Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Fl., and his research focuses on applying ecology in a rapidly changing world. He promotes ample, fruitful debate within our community and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to receiving his award, Dr. Hobbs will be at ESA\u2019s annual meeting in Florida this August for a symposium on novel ecosystems and adaptive management in the anthropocene.<\/p>\n<p>SYMP 17-3 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2016\/webprogram\/Paper57939.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">It\u2019s a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world: Managing altered landscapes and new species combinations<\/a>,\u00a0Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 9:00 AM.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>ESA will present the 2016 awards during the 2016\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/esa.org\/ftlauderdale\/plenaries\/\">Annual Meeting<\/a> in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
