Dr. Egerton describes plant disease studies during the  1700\u2019s, which explored the roles of parasitic fungi, insects, soil, and weather  in plant diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Alumni of ESA\u2019s Strategies for Ecology, Development, and Sustainability  (SEEDS) program present their vision for the future of this award-winning  program in \u201cVoices of Hope in a Rapidly Changing World.\u201d You can also read about  the Diversity Leadership Award to ESA, as a consequence of the work of the SEEDS  program.<\/p>\n<p>Colleagues remember the University of Maryland\u2019s Robert F.
