He was 81.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Slobodkin\u2019s most famous paper, titled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.plantbio.ohiou.edu\/epb\/instruct\/commecology\/refs\/HSS%201960.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Community Structure, Population Control and Competition<\/a>,\u201d showcased his wide-aspect thought processes. The paper, sometimes known as \u201cThe World Is Green,\u201d purports that because vegetation is abundant on Earth, communities are regulated by predators that limit herbivore populations.
