Here is what\u2019s happening in ecology for the last week in March:<\/span><\/p>\n

Sonar music:<\/strong> Artist <\/span>Renaud Hall\u00e9e<\/span><\/a> finds inspiration in sonar to create this video and accompanying music. The video recently captured the public\u2019s attention through blogs like bioephemera, you can see it at \u201c<\/span>Sonar: datavisualizing music<\/span><\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Rising currents: <\/strong>Designers from all walks of life <\/strong>have come together to re-envision New York City\u2019s coastlines in preparation for rising sea levels due to climate change. Perching, pecking and picking: <\/strong>Artist C\u00e9leste Boursier-Mougenot<\/span><\/a><\/span> modernizes the sounds from a garden by adding another element: the electric guitar. Petri dish designs: <\/strong>Many Petri dish experiments turn into blobs of bacteria, but when given the right conditions, bacteria form a whole new result. <\/strong>That is, as bacteria balance density and nutrition, they create intricate vortex patterns.
