Throughout National Wildlife Week (April 21 \u2013 29), which intersects Earth Day, about 30 bloggers (signed up in a mere three days since the announcement) will be spending the week conducting bioblitzes across the world \u2013 the US, Panama, Canada, etc. \u2013 compiling the information gained into tallies and grand totals of species, then georeferencing the whole bit on an interactive world map, showing our results spatially.<\/p>\n
The event has evolved quite a bit in the few days. The main discussion takes place at the Google Group<\/a>; anyone can join as a participant or just a spectator. For a full explanation of the event, please see the original announcement<\/a> <\/a>.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not meant to be a contest, nor is meant to be a hard source of taxonomic data.
