I did my masters in agricultural chemistry because of my interest in pesticides but it was in my doctoral degree that I finally got around to ecological issues. I graduated in soil microbiology and have since worked in areas of microbial ecology. Currently I am an Associate professor in Tuskegee University.

I must say that even though I was doing research in microbial ecology and also coordinating the environmental science program, The SEEDS program was where I actually gained most of my knowledge about ecological careers. I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Science at Tuskegee University and also coordinate the Environmental Science program.

I will advise students to keep an open mind and explore different areas. I also think that perseverance is very important in achieving goals.

From an “Ecologist Directory” maintained by the ESA Education Office about 2004-2011.
