{"id":406,"date":"2015-08-20T15:35:03","date_gmt":"2015-08-20T15:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/esa.org\/ipbes\/?p=406"},"modified":"2015-10-13T15:54:49","modified_gmt":"2015-10-13T15:54:49","slug":"econference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esa.org\/ipbes\/econference\/","title":{"rendered":"E-conference to scope invasive species and sustainable use of biodiversity assessments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has an exciting opportunity for experts to participate in the scoping process online.\u00a0IPBES is holding an online conference to scope the following two assessments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(a) the thematic of assessment invasive alien species and their control (<a href=\"http:\/\/ipbes.net\/index.php\/2015-08-10-11-13-20\/invasive-species\">Deliverable 3bii<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>(b) the thematic assessment of sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity and strengthening capacities and tools (<a href=\"http:\/\/ipbes.net\/index.php\/39-work-programme\/496-deliverable-3biii\">Deliverable 3biii<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The e-conference will take place in three sessions over three weeks from September 7-25th, 2015.\u00a0<\/strong>It will be implemented as an internet forum\/discussion board. Experts will discuss various elements relevant to the scoping reports by posting, reading, and replying on structured discussion boards.\u00a0At the end of each week, a synthesis report will be prepared based on comments and discussions held during the week. The next week\u2019s discussions will build on the discussions of the previous week.
