{"id":5264,"date":"2012-04-26T20:44:32","date_gmt":"2012-04-26T20:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esa.org\/ldc\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2020-02-05T14:40:13","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T14:40:13","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/esa.org\/ldc\/pastconferences\/2013ldc\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"2013 Conference Partners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A consortium of four scientific societies with a collective membership of nearly 20,000 have banded together to organize this inaugural conference that will highlight the leading science, data exploration, curriculum design and implementation in a research-rich education for grades K-16.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"none\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/esa.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ecological Society of America<\/a> (ESA),<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.botany.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Botanical Society of America<\/a> (BSA),<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.evolutionsociety.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Society for the Study of Evolution<\/a> (SSE),<\/li>\n<li>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.econbot.org\/_welcome_\/to_seb.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Society for Economic Botany<\/a> (SEB).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This consortium will jointly manage the LifeDiscoveryEd Digital Library and serve as curators of Society-specific collections within the digital library.<\/p>\n<h3>2013 Planning Committee<\/h3>\n<p>The vision and organization of this event would not be possible without the effort and determination of this group of individuals.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"none\">\n<li><strong>Tom Meagher,<\/strong> <em>Professor, Biology, University of St. Andrews, Scotland<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sunshine L.
