Open to the public.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1137\">Inspire<\/a>: <\/strong>these fast-paced sessions explore new ideas or introduce new research tools. Ignite-style sessions are designed to generate discussion. Speakers\u00a0are not required to present new research results, but are held to a strict format: five minutes for 20 slides, which advance automatically every 15 seconds. An informal discussion follows a set of ten presentations, linked by topic.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1133\">Symposia<\/a>: <\/strong>bring together current perceptions on high level concepts or problems\u00a0through six half-hour presentations, followed by a panel discussion.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1132\"><strong>Organized Talks:<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0session organizers invite ten presenters to speak for 20 minutes about a specific place, research area, or research problem.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1139\">Contributed Talks<\/a>:<\/strong>\u00a020\u2013minute presentations of new research results, grouped by topic or study area.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1140\"><strong>Contributed Posters<\/strong>:<\/a> researchers are on hand to talk one-on-one about their work the exhibition hall. Sessions are held in the Exhibition Hall, Mon-Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. A special session for <a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1143\">late-breaking research results<\/a> meets Friday morning, 8:30 am to noon.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1135\"><strong>Workshops<\/strong><\/a>: interactive programs to teach special skills and knowledge.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1134\"><strong>Special Sessions: <\/strong><\/a>a grab bag of discussion groups and hands-on activities.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eco.confex.com\/eco\/2019\/meetingapp.cgi\/Program\/1136\">Field Trips<\/a>:<\/strong> local members of the Ecological Society take\u00a0visitors on guided ecological tours out of the convention center. ESA does not waive field trip fees for media, but public affairs may be able to make special arrangements for reporters with a serious interest in covering the trip.
