This is a moderated newsgroup. You may also post items using the e-mail address ecophys@net.bio.net. Attachments are not permitted.<\/p>\n<p>You can browse or search the ECOPHYS archives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio.net\/hypermail\/ecophys\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bio.net<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/forum\/?fromgroups#!forum\/bionet.ecology.physiology\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Groups<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Although the newsgroup was initiated by the Physiological Ecology Section, it is, of course, open to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Newsgroup charter:<br>\nPhysiological ecology currently has its own section within the Ecological Society of America; it contains over 500 members. Current research and teaching interests of ecophysiologists range from molecular through ecosystem approaches and include all aspects of nutrient and carbon cycles, cell and whole-organism metabolism, life history, evolution, and various modeling endeavors. Environmental physiology is a component of many other related societies, including those in biometeorology, agriculture, and forestry, all of whom benefit from and communicate with this group.<\/p>\n<p>The newsgroup includes topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>methodologies and instrumentation for ecophysiology<\/li>\n<li>instructional approaches and teaching environmental physiology<\/li>\n<li>announcements of meeetings and job openings<\/li>\n<li>ways to increase awareness and opportunities in ecophysiology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Related E-mail Groups<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.listserv.umd.edu\/archives\/ecolog-l.html\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ecolog-L<\/a> \u2013 sponsored by the Ecological Society of America, this is the most active ecological e-mail group. Job ads, news, and discussion. Heavily used, with 10-20 messages per day. Web interface and digest mode are available.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/listserv.umd.edu\/archives\/esa-students.html\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESA-students<\/a> \u2013 a listserv for students, sponsored by the ESA Student Section. Averages less than 1 message\/month.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio.net\/bionet\/mm\/photosyn\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Photosyn<\/a> \u2013 for discussion of photosynthesis research. Averages less than 1 message\/month.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jiscmail.ac.uk\/lists\/env-physiol.html\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Plant Environmental Physiology Group<\/a> \u2013 the British Ecological Society\u2019s e-mail list for plant environmental physiology.
