It is time to elect a new PPE Vice Chair! We have one candidate for the position this year, Dr. Jennifer Gremer<\/a>. Read Dr. Gremer\u2019s candidate statement and CV, then vote below.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am fascinated by the traits and strategies that plants use to address the challenges of living in variable and changing environments, as well as the consequences of those responses for fitness, population dynamics, and patterns of diversity in communities. I am particularly interested in understanding how these patterns will shape responses to climate change. To understand these mechanisms and their consequences, I use a variety of approaches that integrate physiology, demography, ecology, and evolution into my research. I received my PhD from University of Montana in 2010 under the guidance of Elizabeth Crone and Anna Sala. I conducted postdoctoral research at University of Arizona with Larry Venable, Travis Huxman and Amy Angert before working as a research ecologist at the USGS with John Bradford. I joined the faculty at UC Davis as assistant professor in 2015. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Plant Population Ecology section has always been a home for me as an integrative ecologist that has strong roots in population ecology. I am interested in serving as Vice-Chair because I value the work the section does, particularly providing opportunities for students to attend meetings, recognize the outstanding work of early career scientists in the section, as well as serving as a nexus for plant population ecologists. I would like to continue to support and expand those opportunities if possible, as well as work to recruit, retain, and support a diversity of scientists in the section.<\/span><\/span>\u201c<\/p>\n
