      2. Nominations open will be open through October 5<\/span>th<\/span>, 2018<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Voting will be open for 1 week: October 7<\/span>th<\/span> through October 13<\/span>th<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. Send nominations to Sarah Anderson (<\/span>sarah.m.anderson.10@gmail.com<\/span><\/a>) <\/span>\n

        1. Please include contact information for the nominee<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Self-nominations are welcomed as well as nominating others<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Candidates for each position will be asked to write a short response to why they want to serve in the position and provide a short bio<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        4. Job descriptions for the By-laws:<\/span>\n
            \n
          1. The <\/span>Chairperson-Elect<\/b> shall arrange the program for all meetings and activities of the Section, and shall assume the duties of the Chairperson whenever that person is unable to act. The Chairperson-Elect is to assume the position of the Chairperson after one year\u2019s duty unless the active Chairperson is reelected. The Chairperson-Elect shall serve for a term of one year and shall be eligible for reelection.<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. The <\/span>Secretary<\/b> shall keep the records of the Section, including a current membership and mailing list. The Secretary will communicate Section activities through an electronic newsletter. The Secretary shall serve for a term of one year, and shall be eligible for reelection.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          3. The Chair will be the current Chairperson-Elect, Anjali Kumar and Past-Chairperson will be Sarah Anderson<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    1. The community of people engaged in the science of ecology is transforming, bringing important new perspectives into the field. Inclusive approaches to ecology can build bridges between theory and practice, connect those working in disparate landscapes and subdisciplines, and incorporate diverse perspectives. Such approaches support ecologists and the ecological community as a whole as they articulate socio-environmental connections, address widespread ecosystem change, take advantage of technological advancements that provide unprecedented access to data and new analytical techniques, and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n

                            2. GoLightly Platform\u2014this is a new platform ESA has purchased to help facilitate communication within the membership. It contains discussion boards, allows us to have a private library of records (closed to folks who are not members), and links directly to the membership database so we always have an update to-date list of section members<\/span>\n
