Learning Objectives: <\/h3>\n

As a result of this workshop, students will be able to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Describe how current environmental challenges are related to human systems.<\/li>\n
  2. Evaluate different human responses to environmental challenges<\/li>\n
  3. Improve understanding of ecological principles.<\/li>\n
  4. Develop research questions to explore how ecosystem services (food, fiber, air, water and energy), quality of life, and economics are related.<\/li>\n
  5. Understand tools that can be used to evaluate different policy responses to environmental change.<\/li>\n
  6. Analyze spatially explicit interactions between policy, land-use and land-cover change, and ecosystems using GIS.<\/li>\n
  7. Apply principles for effective science communication to both scientific and general audiences
    \nUnderstand the basis of socioeconomic and ecological datasets.<\/li>\n
  8. Gain familiarity with NEON framework.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
