The Ecological Society of America (ESA) has partnered with Quantitative Undergraduate Biology Education Synthesis (QUBES; qubeshub.org) to offer faculty mentoring networks to provide support and resources to faculty interested in bringing research data into undergraduate classrooms. What are Faculty Mentoring Networks?<\/h2>\n

\"\"QUBES (qubeshub.org) is an NSF-funded virtual center that supports collaboration to promote quantitative biology education at the undergraduate level.<\/p>\n

Faculty Mentoring Networks (FMNs) are designed to fit into the busy schedules of college faculty, and facilitate \u201cjust in time \u201d support by a small group of educators working with an experienced peer mentor.\u00a0 FMNs provide a bridge between pedagogical theory and actionable classroom practice.<\/p>\n

The ESA-QUBES FMN focus on quantitative literacy using authentic research data. If you have not incorporated research data into your classroom before, this program may give you the help you are looking for.<\/p>\n

You will be able to choose from a set of modules to implement in your course. The group meets biweekly over a semester sharing what has worked and what hasn\u2019t. Routinely, we invite the authors of the modules to share insights into their research and classroom activities. You have the freedom to adapt the module to fit your classroom setting and you also share your insights by posting your adaptations on QUBES Hub.\u00a0 For your teaching scholarship, you are recognized as an ESA Education Scholar!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
