Become a member of the Student Section to connect with one of the largest
communities of young ecologists in the world.<\/h4>\n

Joining is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4!<\/h1>\n

Double check that you are a member of the Ecological Society of America. You do have to be a member of the Society to join the Student Section. For ESA membership go here.<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Once you\u2019ve confirmed membership, login with your username (ID number) and password (last name, all lowercase) here.<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

On the menu bar under the ESA logo click on the Join\/Renew ESA tab, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on \u201cMembership Options.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

You may now select the Student Section, proceed to checkout to make your online payment and VOILA! WELCOME to the Student Section of the Ecological Society of America!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Membership in the Student Section is free with regular membership in the scoiety (just select the Student Section when becoming a member of ESA), but if you are already a member of another section then joining the Student Section costs $5, which includes a host of benefits:<\/h4>\n

Awards:<\/strong>\u00a0Student Section members are eligible to apply for a variety of awards related to the annual meeting, including the <\/span>Real Brown travel awards<\/a>, the <\/span>Union of Concerned Scientists\u2019\u00a0Eco-Service award<\/a>, and the <\/span>Outstanding Student Research in Ecology award<\/a>.\u00a0For more info, <\/span>click HERE<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A voice in ESA programming:<\/strong> Members are directly involved in determining the topics of workshops and events for the annual meeting. Each year, the Student Section surveys the membership for feedback on the skills and subjects of greatest interest to young ecologists. As a member, you can help craft the annual meeting to your needs and those of other ecology students.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leadership opportunities:<\/strong> The Student Section offers a variety of leadership opportunities within the society, including officer<\/a> and liaison<\/a> positions. These positions empower you to directly improve the annual meeting. In addition, Student Section members can contribute to our new blog to increase their visibility within the ecological community.<\/p>\n
