EJ Section on the relationship of ecology, policy and justice

Recognizing that environmental impacts deferentially impact communities, the EJ Section advocates research and education on local to global scales that incorporates environmental justice concerns into scientific research to address past, current and future environmental issues.  The Section is particularly interested in the development of ecological science that can be used for the development and implementation of effective, ethical, and fair public policies.

EJ Section on the role of education

 Because the results of science are often not well understood by the general public,the EJ Section advocates and supports the development of effective outreach and communication.  In particular, we encourage ecological education efforts that foster improved EJ policy research, better methodology in relationship-based outreach, and more effective communication of ecological science.
