1917 Handbook as Spreadsheet
In HRC’s session on Communities, Places, and American Ecology (OOS 11, 8/6/13), Alison Anastasio and Julie Mulroy presented talks based on data from the 1917 Handbook:
1) They have created a clean version of the ESA 1917 Handbook, which lists the 307 early members and their responses to several questions about their work. Read more on the Early Members page, where you can get more information about the handbook and access the basic spreadsheet.
2) Their talks were based on an enhanced version of this basic spreadsheet. Please contact Alison Anastasio (aea AT uchicago DOT edu) and Julie Mulroy (mulroy AT denison DOT edu) for more information about progress on this extended database they are developing from the original handbook data. They welcome collaboration as we use these databases to learn more about the early history of ESA and its membership networks.
