The Urban Ecosystem Ecology Section, founded in 2002, promotes an understanding of the importance of urban ecosystems among ecologists and members of related disciplines; encourages education and research in urban ecosystem ecology; sponsors meetings and publications for the communication of research and educational activities in urban ecosystem ecology; and encourages student participation in the Society.
