The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is an international organization that connects policymakers with the scientific knowledge they need to make decisions about biodiversity and ecosystem services.
It is unique because its scientific assessments are created in response to policymakers’ requests. They are designed to match policy needs and written with policy relevance in mind.
Participate in this global effort! IPBES is currently developing several assessments with the assistance of scientists from around the globe. Examples include:
+ an assessment of the status of pollinators, pollination, and food production
+ regional and global assessments of the status of biodiversity and ecosystem service
+ a thematic assessment of land degradation and restoration
IPBES is also in need of reviewers, multidisciplinary experts, and more. Find out how to participate here.
