Tech Check Signups
For Invited Speakers, Session Organizers, and Session Moderators
Tech checks are a short (15-20 minute) one on one meeting with our production staff. A technician will help you check your system in advance to make sure everything goes smoothly for the live session. They will make sure you understand what to expect for the live session and answer any questions you may have about your equipment setup.
Tech checks are optional but highly recommended.
Appointments are available Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time.

Before Your Tech Check
- Please plan to attend your tech check from the same desktop computer or laptop that you plan on using for the session.
- Ideally this would also be in the same location you plan to log into any live sessions from, but using the same computer is the most important aspect.
- We suggest that you download Zoom to your computer in advance of the tech check. The downloaded version works a lot better for this than the web browser version. If a web browser is the only option for you, we recommend using Google Chrome.
- Please bring to the tech check the audio equipment that you plan to use for your participation in the event (headphones, microphone headset). Plugged in versions of these devices will work most reliably. It is best to avoid wireless (Bluetooth) devices.
- Each tech check is designed for one speaker. If you plan to have someone else co-present with you from another location, please forward them the link and these instructions so they can schedule their own tech check. Please also mention this plan to the technician when you meet with them so they’re aware and can help you plan for sharing the presentation.
Assistance Provided During The Tech Check
- Assessment of your internet connectivity.
- Recommendations for optimum audio and video settings in Zoom.
- A preview of your physical surroundings in terms of lighting, environmental sounds, and the actual background where you are that will be viewable during the session.
- A review of how to share screen in Zoom (if needed).
