    Synopsis

    Field trips allow participants to explore ecological attractions local to the meeting city and region. Trips may last part of a day or an entire day. Most trips require bus transportation; however, we welcome walking and biking tours close to the convention center. Use of public transportation is also encouraged, if applicable.

    We invite proposals for short courses. Short courses offer participants an opportunity to learn new skills through interactive instruction and hands-on training in a long format (3 or 6 hours). Short courses are more interactive and informal than formal paper sessions, and they can involve extended discussion as well as hands-on training.

    These sessions help attendees learn how career pathways work at various stages of development. Career Central is structured for smaller audiences (up to 50 attendees) to accommodate these interactive elements. Career Central will be of especially strong interest to students and early career ecologists. We welcome proposals for any career stage.
