Effective spring 1995, ESA shifted to a Governing Board that makes most decisions, currently consisting of eleven elected officers: the President, President-Elect, Past President, Vice-President for Finance, Secretary, and six Board Members. ESA members initially elected one Vice-President. After a restructuring in 1995 four individual Vice-Presidents managed responsibilities in Science, Public Affairs, Finance, and Education and Human Resources, respectively.
