Created in honor of the contributions of Fakhri Bazzaz and Steward Pickett to the field of ecology, the Bazzaz-Pickett Award recognizes excellence in mentorship of the next generation of ecologists in a manner that fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

We have reached a threshold of $30,000 to create the endowment fund and start making awards. The award will provide a cash prize of up to $500 and travel support of up to $700 to the ESA Annual meeting.
Moving Forward

Our goal is to raise a total of $100,000 endowment to sustain the award in perpetuity.
