Frequently Asked Questions

We are just days away from the start of the ESA 103rd Annual Meeting. We are excited to meet you in New Orleans! To help make the most of your experience, we wanted to provide answers to some frequently asked questions in advance.

Meeting App

Don’t forget to download the meeting app before you go so you’ll have up-to-date information about the conference, including floor plans. We’ll have print programs available as well as a pocket guide for attendees who wish to conserve paper by pairing a more abbreviated print program with the app.

Luggage Check

We strongly recommend checking any luggage at your hotel before arriving at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. We are unable to hold attendee bags at Registration during the meeting. Luggage check will be available only on Friday, August 10th from 7:15 AM – 12:15 PM in Lobby E. Departing attendees may check a bag for a fee.

Registration Desk / Badge Pick Up
and Ticket Purchase

You can pick up your name badge and meeting program at the ESA Registration area in Lobby E of the Convention Center. Since you have registered before the meeting, proceed to Advance Registration at this same location. If you need to purchase any event tickets, you can do so at Onsite Registration up to one day before the event (5:00 PM will be the daily deadline for ticket purchase). Some events are already selling out, so we recommend taking care of any ticket purchases soon after you arrive.

Attire & Shoes

Temperatures in New Orleans will be above average while we are there. We recommend packing layers since Convention Centers can be quite chilly (especially in session rooms) even though the temperatures outside will be warm. Casual clothes are common at our Conference, as is more business casual attire. We recommend comfortable shoes for walking around the Convention Center and exploring all that New Orleans has to offer. New Orleans has a street car system.

Transportation

Discounted airport shuttle rates are available to ESA attendees. Reserve in advance. Click here to make a reservation.

Food & Beverage

The Convention Center offers a few food and beverage options within the building. Starbucks will be open Monday-Friday at 7:00 AM.

Printing

For printing needs, the Convention Center has a UPS store® and there is a FedEx® Kinkos® across the street. If you are planning to ship your poster or any other items, please send them to your hotel. ESA cannot receive packages at the Convention Center on attendees’ behalf.

Battery Charging

If you are registered for a weekend workshop, we advise you to fully charge your laptop in advance. Outlets in workshop rooms are limited.
