Media services will be headquartered at the McEnery Convention Center. The Press Room is offered as an amenity for reporters, freelance journalists, and radio and television correspondents who attend the meeting and report on the scientific presentations. Reporters will have access to computers, internet, a copier, fax, and phone lines.
Obtaining Press Credentials:
We are able to waive registration for reporters with: a recognized press card or current membership in the National Association of Science Writers, the Canadian Science Writers Association, the International Science Writers Association, or the Society of Environmental Journalists. Registration is also waived for Public Information Officers who can demonstrate membership in one of the above professional organizations. We do not waive registration for editors of peer-reviewed journals, ad sales representatives, publishers, program officers, or marketing professionals.
Scientists, advertising or marketing professionals, and other non-press room participants must register through General Registration and pay the registration fee.
Interested members of the press should contact Annie Drinkard at annie@esa.org or call 202-833-8773 to register for the meeting. For those interested in field trips and workshops, please note these events fill up early. Media attendees are responsible for any fees associated with these sessions.
Institutional Press Officers/Public Information Officers:
Press officers may request copies of all abstracts related to their institution. ESA will distribute any relevant press releases in the Annual Meeting press room. Please contact Annie Drinkard (annie@esa.org) for more information.
Embargo Policy
Please note that specific content related to the abstracts and presentations at the 2007 ESA/SER Joint Annual Meeting will remain strictly embargoed until the day of the scientific session.
