Calls for Editors-in-Chief

Editors-in-Chief serve a series of terms as the leader of a specific publication. When an Editor-in-Chief steps down, we will put out an open call for applications for a replacement.

Calls for Subject-matter/Associate Editors

Our publications will periodically put out an open call for applications for the Subject-matter/Associate Editor position for a specific journal when more coverage is needed for a specific area of study.

In our efforts to expand and build a broadly representative editorial board, ESA journals actively seek a wide applicant pool that is diverse in geography, nationality, culture, race and ethnicity, gender identity and expression, and areas of expertise. We especially encourage applications from members of groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in academic publishing.

Ecological Monographs

Date: August 2023

Ecological Monographs seeks scholars interested in serving on its editorial board. Ecological Monographs publishes cutting-edge, comprehensive, and multifaceted papers in ecology and related science. Among the top-ranked ecology journals in the world, Ecological Monographs had a 2021 Journal Citation Reports impact factor of 9.8. Ecological Monographs is one of six journals of the Ecological Society of America, published by Wiley.

Editorial board members, referred to as Subject-matter Editors, serve as the journal’s experts. Their principal responsibilities are to assess the quality and originality of manuscripts, identify potential reviewers to vet manuscripts deemed appropriate for review, and ultimately make decisions regarding those manuscripts based on their own assessment and the reviewers’ comments.
