ESA is exploring the possibility of organizing a virtual global conference on the overarching theme “Ecologies of a Changing Planet”. The idea for this conference emerged from ESA’s Excellence in Ecology (EEE) scholars, many of whom conduct research in other continents. The goal of this virtual conference is to provide an opportunity for ecologists worldwide to engage with the ESA community and build networks for collaboration and professional development.

We are currently seeking participants interested in joining the planning committee as well as community input on effective formats for such an event. Tentatively, we are looking at February 2027 to hold this conference.

We will begin reviewing responses by February 18 but will keep the survey open through end of February 2026. If you have any questions, please contact education@esa.org.
