Water quality in ponds affects the distribution of birds, as confirmed by a study recently published in the journal Ecosphere, examining the relationship between the distribution and abundance of birds depending on water transparency. It showed that deteriorating water quality during the season limits the space for birds, especially those dependent on clean water. The study emphasizes the importance of controlled management of wetlands and the maintenance of quality habitats, which can support bird populations and restore ecological balance. The Třeboňsko region thus has the potential to be a model in nature conservation.
