Chapter & Section Meetings

Sections and chapters both participate in the larger, national, Annual Meeting by exhibiting at tabletops, holding special events, and by engaging meeting participants. Chapters hold local meetings and usually convene based on region. While some chapters have meetings in their infancy, others, like the Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes Region and Southwest meeting, draw larger crowds and are better funded to enrich future meetings. For example, in 2025, the Mid-Atlantic chapter meeting was held at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. Read this press release for more details.

Sections are comprised of participants based on similar interest as opposed to region. The various facets of vast field of ecology includes, microbial ecology, soil ecology, agroecology, biogeosciences and invasion ecology.

Section and Chapter awards are available to help fund travel or other expenses to either the national annual meeting or a regional one.
