Applying 4DEE in the Classroom: The Critical Pedagogy of Place: Connecting Ecology with Human Impact and Climate Disparities

Friday, April 17 at 1 PM ET

Critical pedagogy of place or (CPP) (as proposed by David A. Gruenewald) merges place-based education with social justice and environmental sustainability. The chat explored how as educators we might integrate a “critical pedagogy of place” and to show how ecology, applied anthropology, and critical theories in education can intersect to promote transformational awareness based on student’s own observations in their local communities. Results of a recent pilot were also shared.
